Energy Star® New Home Program
Now there’s one simple choice you can make for your new home that will give you greater savings, comfort and peace of mind for years to come… Energy Star. Today’s leading builders are combining traditional craftsmanship with advanced technologies to build homes that are more comfortable and durable, and cost less to operate. Central Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CEC) is offering a cash rebate to builders of new, certified Energy Star homes. These homes are performance tested by an independent third party to confirm that the home will be at least 15% more efficient than the current Oregon building code. While many builders claim to build “energy efficient” homes, Energy Star builders can prove it.
How much is the rebate?
The rebate for a certified home is $1,500.00 - please refer to the application form for details. The house must pass on-site inspections and be certified as Energy Star compliant by the Oregon Department of Energy.
Eligibility
This program is available to builders of new, certified, Energy Star site-built homes that have an electric heating system. The home must be sited within CEC’s service territory and it must be certified by an Energy Star verifier.
